Three major communities….Aventura, Golden Beach, Sunny Isles….comprise the northeastern corner of Miami-Dade County which is approximately 19 miles north of downtown Miami.

Coming from the Spanish word for “adventure”, the mainland city was named “Aventura” after one of the developers of the original group of condominiums in the area remarked to the others, "What an adventure this is going to be." The planned, suburban city of Aventura located from Interstate 95 east to the Intracoastal Waterway became incorporated in 1995 under its own local government. Aventura is a mecca for gated waterfront neighborhoods with marinas attractive for luxury boating enthusiasts and amazing views from luxury condo towers such as Williams Island.

Golden Beach was the vision of two brothers in the early 1920’s that wanted to create a small, quiet community along the coast devoted to family life close to large centers but far enough away to insure the peace and quiet of suburban life with waterfront access. The brothers purchased a strip of beach less than a mile long and spent millions of dollars cleaning out mangrove swamps, pumping and hauling in fill to form the three islands and the peninsulas between plus build bridges and the infrastructure including streets. The Town of Golden Beach was incorporated under its present status by a special act of the State of Florida Legislature in 1929. The act was approved and Golden Beach became a legalized community on May 23rd, 1929. The act set up the political structure for the operation of the town and authorized the creation of a police force both of which still exist today. Luxury custom oceanfront homes located of the private beach on the east side of the community are extravagant. The majority of homes in the gated islands on the west side of Golden Beach front directly on the Intracoastal Waterway and are renown for the upscale image.

Sunny Isles Beach is a city on a barrier island bounded by the Atlantic Ocean with white, sandy beaches on the east and the Intracoastal Waterway on the west ideal for boating. The resort city has been transformed into a destination with luxury beachfront high rises for the ultimate South Florida experience whether relaxing or enjoying sizzling nights on the town.
