The northern boundary is Eureka Drive (SW 184 St) south to Black Point Marina and US 1 east to the coast. Cutler Bay is approximately 15 miles directly south of Miami International Airport. The town includes areas formerly known as Cutler Ridge. Both the current and former names were derived from the former town of Cutler which existed at the turn of the century. In August 1992, Cutler Bay was greatly affected by Hurricane Andrew, a category 5 hurricane, that destroyed over 25,000 homes and damaged over 100,000 others. Cutler Bay promotes going green and encourages environmental responsibility for all its residents.
