Everglades National Park, nicknamed “River of Grass”, located west of South Dade is made up of 1.5 million acres of wetlands housing crocodiles, alligators, white-tailed deer and the famous Florida panther. To the East is Biscayne National Park which is the largest marine park in the national system with 95 percent of its 172,000 acres underwater. It's a boating, fishing and diving paradise.
South Dade encompasses many areas that are geographically attached which are primarily residential and part of unincorporated Miami-Dade County. Neighborhoods such as Quail Heights, Goulds and The Redlands make up this expansive area of the County. Attractions include Cauley Square, Coral Castle, Fruit & Spice Park, Knaus Berry Farm, Burr's Berry Farm and Schnebly Redlands Winery.
