Normandy Shores Golf and Tennis Community is located on a man-made island. The land for the golf course was donated to the City of Miami Beach on January 4, 1928, a year later the City took position of the land. By 1939 the dredging efforts of the City of Miami Beach had created Normandy Shores Isle. On December 18, 1941, the City of Miami Beach held a dedication ceremony for the golf course and new clubhouse. In 2008, the City of Miami Beach spent over $9 million to renovate the golf course, tennis facility and clubhouse. The single family homes comprise the gated section of the island. The majority of homes have wonderful backyard views of Biscayne Bay or the channel that runs along the south side of the island. Another large percentage of homes have amazing golf course views from their backyards. A small percentage of homes have no water or golf locations. Many mid-century homes have been totally renovated or demolished. Several new homes have been built since 2005 or are under construction. This secluded island is an ideal community to enjoy a round of golf or a tennis match in the soothing breezes within walking distance from your home.
